26-27 сентября 2018 года Центр социально-политической истории (филиал ГПИБ России) проводит конференцию «Наследие Маркса в XXI веке».
В год двухсотлетия Карла Маркса и стосемидесятилетия написания «Манифеста Коммунистической партии» не прекращаются дискуссии и научные публикации о характере и исторической роли марксизма. За прошедшие годы предпринимались неоднократные попытки реализовать политические и экономические идеи Маркса на практике, в том числе, в России. После распада Советского Союза казалось, что вместе со страной умер и марксизм, ушел в прошлое в качестве интеллектуального артефакта. Тем не менее, по прошествии уже без малого 25 лет, марксизм продолжает развиваться, марксисты участвуют в академических дискуссиях и предлагают свои решения по актуальным проблемам общественной жизни.
Одно из лучших мировых книжных собраний по марксизму, созданное в 1920-е годы Д.Б. Рязановым, ныне хранящееся в ЦСПИ ГПИБ России, позволяет вернуться к истокам и познакомиться с идеями Маркса вне идеологических догм, дабы самостоятельно сформулировать ответ на вопрос об актуальности марксизма.
Конференция будет посвящена исследованию трансформации марксизма за последние четверть века. Планируется формирование трех больших тематических блоков: наследие К.Маркса после распада СССР; наследие К.Маркса в академической науке на современном этапе; марксизм и проблемы равенства в XXI веке (гендерные, национальные и религиозные проблемы; экономическое неравенство; экология).
К участию приглашаются политологи, социологи, историки занимающиеся данными вопросами.

The Center of Social and Political History (the branch of the State Public Historical Library of Russia) organizes on the 26-27 th of September 2018 a scientific conference «Marx’s Heritage in the 21 st Century».
In the year of Karl Marx’s bicentennial and 170 th anniversary of the «Communist Manifesto» publication, the discussions and academic publications on the character and historical role of Marxism are still numerous. The world knows various practical attempts to realize Marx’s political and economic ideas. The most striking efforts in this field were experienced in Russia.
After the collapse of the USSR it seemed that Marxism had disappeared together with the country, became just an intellectual artifact from the past. Nevertheless, after more than 25 years, Marxism is still maintaining attractiveness, the Marxists take part in the academic discussions and look for the decisions of actual social problems.
The Center of Social and Political History, as one of the best world collections of printing
materials on Marxism, that was created by D. Ryazanov in the 1920s and now as the branch of the State Public Historical Library, gives an opportunity to return to the original tradition, to get acquainted with the Marx’s ideas without ideological dogmas, to articulate one’s own opinion on actuality of Marxism.
The conference will be devoted to the transformation of Marxism during the last quarter of the century. The subject is structured in three main panels: Karl Marx’s creative heritage after USSR’s collapse; Karl Marx’s ideas in the modern academic spheres; Marxism and an inequality question in the 21 st century (gender, national and religious problems; economical and social inequality; ecology and etc).
We invite to take part in the conference «Marx’s Heritage in the 21 st Century» the scholars — political scientists, sociologists, historians, economists and others, whose research interests are close to the topic.
